Francine LeRoy Artistic Director
Francine LeRoy is a member of the Professional Dance Teachers' Association,
Dance Educators of America, and the National Association of Dance Educators.
In addition to teaching for 35 years, she has choreographed over 50 musicals
for community theaters from Cleveland to Wooster.
She has directed musicals for Strongsville High School and Wayne County
Performing Arts Center. In 1984, she established Gotta
Dance Studio in Seville, then in 1997 opened Gotta Dance Studio in Medina.
However, her teaching career in Medina County started long before this. She
taught Safety Town for two season, drama classes, Exerslim and dance classes
through the Cloverleaf Community Education Program.
Mrs. LeRoy is proud to have had her TdF alumni receive dance scholarships to
Ohio University, Otterbein College, University of South Carolina, Oklahoma
City University, The University of Akron, Bowling Green State University,
University of Nevada (Las Vegas) and Baldwin Wallace College. Some have
performed at Disney World, Gus Giordano's Jazz Dance Chicago, Pro Bowl (Hawaii),
Paramount's King's Island, Cedar Point, Geauga Lake Park and in commercials
on national television. They have won summer workshop scholarships to the
prestigious Joffrey Ballet (NYC), Steps (NYC), Broadway Dance Center (NYC)
and Studio F (LA).
Mrs. LeRoy established Tour de Force Entertainment Co. in 1991. The group has gone
on to achieve many awards and scholarships and was chosen to perform in Italy.
In 1993, 22 performers of TdF performed at the Tever Expo in Rome and the
Italian Renaissance Festival on the Almalfi coast of Italy. In 1994, at the
annual awards banquet for Dance Educators of America in New York City, LeRoy
was recognized as one of only five teachers in the United States doing the
most innovative work in the nation. She has been named "Best Choreographer"
numerous times, had her pieces win "Most Entertaining", "Judges Choice", and
more annually at regional and national competitions. In 2000 her group
was once again chosen to perform abroad in Mexico. In 2002, TdF performed
in Hawaii at the Polynesian Culture Center.
Her hope is that discipline, opportunities and unique experiences afforded these
talented young performers will position them to excel in dance, theater, or
any career they choose to follow.
