About Tour de Force
Tour de Force is a non-profit entertainment company whose mission is to
develop, promote, and foster community interest in the performing arts
by presenting professional, quality programs; thereby giving qualified
dancers and entertainers the opportunity to participate in such programs.
The performers of Tour de Force are between the ages of 10 and 18.
They work over twenty hours each week perfecting their skills in the
performing arts. Thousands of children and adults of all ages groups,
from preschool to senior citizens, have been entertained by this company.
They have presented well over 100 performances at local schools, and at
community events, public and private, in the surrounding areas as well as
New York City, New Jersey and Disney World during the past five years. Chosen as United
States goodwill ambassadors, they performed in several cities in Italy
during the Italian Renaissance Festival. They have performed as featured
entertainers at the Dance Educators of America annual banquet representing
"some of the best work being done in the nation."
The group has traveled as goodwill ambassadors giving
three performances including one at Mexico's summer festival. They also
participated in a cultural exchange dancing and taking classes with "Ballet Folklorico," Yucatan Peninsula. They have studied at the prestigious
Randolph Dance Academy in Toronto, Canada. In Summer 2002, they performed in
Hawaii at the Polynesian Culture Center. This year, our members attended a
Professional Dance Teachers Association Dance Intensive Workshop.
